What I provide at every tryout I attend with you or that you attend by yourself if an update on your playing status with a report from me and other coaches/scouts/managers that have seen you play with us and other places. I attend most events with players and I am constantly in the war room with the Managers. Once the Rail Cats and Boomers have passed on any players I pass the information on to every other team in the country. They respond to me with who they want to see in our annual Spring Training Games on the Road Warrior Tour Team and sometimes attend our events across the USA. The Black Sox has become a place for Managers and Coaches to network consistently (heading into our 8th year of Barnstorming).

Missed or late payments will be an added fee ($250 per season) as we are budgeting for Coaches and Players around the country, and of course, players are going to drop off. The logistics in this business are crazy, so we do the best we can to stay on top of things as you should as well. I constantly strive to make this team, business and organization better every year as we have grown. I will not tolerate unpaid bills or late payments as of 2020.

I know what else is out there. I am not in competition with any other business, tryout camps, or attempts to scam players around the country. I do this because I started a team 18 years ago and we have grown and gotten stronger. I never thought we would sign more than 250 players to jobs in 2019, starting in 2013 with 2 games vs the now extinct Newark Bears.

In 2020 however, we, and everyone else is likely to sign the least amount of players to Professional Baseball. There will be less jobs for more available players.

I basically set-up my life around where the most baseball and opportunity in the country is, and share that opportunity with you. This program is “different” in the fact that we travel as a unit, battle as an army and live like a family. If you can’t grind, can’t be flexible and low maintenance, as well as patient and understanding with the process than this may not be for you. Most guys are here for a short time. Refer to the current rosters and list of transactions to see why players stick around for a while.

You can follow me on Instagram @blacksoxprobaseball as well as Joe Torre on Facebook for updates. Blacksoxprobaseball.com provides you with the daily schedule and information. Make connections with other players and make plans with them as well. The schedules posted under the “schedule” section will include tryout events, Florida and NJ games, and the Road Warrior Tour 2020 as it develops.

Staff:

Includes MLB Coaches in Texas/Chicago/Northeast USA as well as Indy Professional Coaches ranging from the Top 4 Leagues in the USA to Canada and overseas. I Take of my staff well, as they are the best guys I can find to surround players with as well as to sign them and give them an opportunity.

Our effort is to sign players to the top four leagues in the USA. Those leagues are —->> Atlantic League/American Association/Frontier League/Pacific Association.

BLACK SOX RULES:

  1. Take care of your feet

  2. Fart Smart

  3. Don’t tell her you love her

  4. Don’t talk about fight club.

Black Sox players wear Black Sox. And Black belts and hats and undershirts. Stay away from Disney colors. Hats and shirts are earned and purchased.

2019 Tour Players that were signed:

Eric Morell went to the Rail Cats and later was sent to Schaumburg, released and then helped re-sign him with Washington. He had season end wrist surgery.

Devin Rose, went 6 vs Chicago and then 2 shutout innings to close vs Schaumburg and signed on the spot.

He finished the season with an arm injury.

I wish these guys could have been around longer, especially when we were in the Northeast with our team Doctor and MLB Rehab Pitching Coordinator as well as in Florida with our other therapists and trainers to continue getting stronger and and doing rehab and pre-hab with us as well.

I can only do so much…

YOU DO NOT NEED A MEMBERSHIP!

You only have to do what you can, and not drain yourself or your finances by trying to attend all the events that we have. I will always be honest in letting you know which events I think are crucial for you to attend and which that you can afford to miss.

The most important events would be the Florida Trip before the season and the Spring Training Road Warrior Tour.

The tryouts in your local area would probably be important to attend if you need to be seen by those teams.

Are you guaranteed a spot on the Road Warrior Tour if you have a full-year membership?

NO. The Road Warrior Tour is invite only and as the players sign up for events rosters will be listed online.

PAYMENTS:

All payments are due before you step on the field, and may be handled through Venmo, Pay Pal, cash or check.

Payments using Paypal should be sent to “Friends and Family,” not “Goods and Services,” or the app will eat a percentage and you will owe the difference. I do not want this to happen so please pay attention to detail.

DEPOSIT PAYMENTS INCLUDE: 1 week of workouts or 1 month of advisement services during the season before we discuss the membership plan and MAP. You will figure out a plan to pay the rest of your membership during this time.

Ex. If your deposit and membership started on Jan 1, 2020, you would pay the next years fee in half as a deposit 1 month before this due date (Dec 2020) and the rest on or before Jan 1.

LATE PAYMENTS: will result in a $250 season fee. No exceptions. You will receive an email reminder one month before the deposit due date, the day of the due deposit, and the day of the due membership as a reminder.

I have no more sympathy for late payments as they are damaging the membership opportunities for other players. This program runs on a budget, and as I mentioned above, the more you put in, the more you get out. But there is no excuse to not have the 2nd year membership payment ready as you will have had the entire first year to save up for it and plan. I cannot sympathize during the time of the Coronavirus, as I am in the same boat as you guys. No work, no way to make money, and I still take care of all my bills personally and for the Black Sox. If you weren’t ready to pay the membership anyway, you weren’t going to make it thru the summer or Tour season anyway.
